EPISODE THIRTY-NINE: Knuckleheads

(APOLOGIES FOR THE SHITTY MICROPHONE PROBLEMS IN THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES. We were down a microphone, and I thought that using the internal MacBook mic would somehow be a good idea.)

This show is very different. We actually substituted “horrible attempts at humor” with “great guests/information”…

We were lucky enough to have Brian Winkeler and Robert Wilson IV stop by the apartment for an *awesome* interview about the comic book creation process, Kyle Kinane, Generation gaps, and their new(ish) comic book: Knuckleheads.

On a totally personal level, I have read Knuckleheads AND Brian’s other project, Bastard Road, and have found them both to be hilarious, and very well written. These dudes definitely do quality stuff, and I was stoked to take a break from our typical BS for an actual conversation with people who haven’t previously huffed paint at some point in their lives (as far as I know).

But, with that said, we’ll be back to regularly scheduled shenanigans next week as we will be celebrating our FORTIETH episode by drinking (what else?) as many 40’s as we can handle, and we’ll have the always hilarious BradChad Porter joining us. It will be comedy gold/porn. Stay tuned, kids.

EPISODE THIRTY-SIX: FREETULSA MUSIC FESTIVAL!

Mid-Summer Hiatus Update!

We were lucky enough to spend the last weekend of July in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the first ever FREETULSA MUSIC FESTIVAL, and these are our tales.

MAJOR thanks go out to Wayne Coyne, David Terry, Tom Bishop, and all the other acts that let us interview them that just didn’t make it into the episode. We had an awesome weekend, and can’t wait to do it again next year!

On a technical level, I think this is our most ambitious show to date. Sadly, on a content level, we left a lot to be desired. We were in a sleepless, hungover, RedBull-fueled daze when we recorded and it just didn’t “pop” as much as I would have liked. BUT, with that said, we will be back in September with new episodes on a weekly basis again! It seems as if we always take the summers off, but, we’re ready to jump back in.

New episode, but this was actually recorded and edited two weeks ago, BEFORE the Norman Music Festival, which is why we talk about coming out to it in the first segment (and I’m too lazy to go in and re-edit it…)
